James Blackmon, Jr.

6'2" 170 pound Guard out of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers (Committed to Indiana, Class of 2014).

Hoopside rating: 84.6

Offensive: 83  Defensive: 78  Size: 80  Athleticism: 81  Intangibles: 86  IQ (out of 20): 15

Overview:

James Blackmon, Jr. can jump, shoot, handle the ball, control the tempo of the game, and guard your best player.  This class of 2014 member's game is smooth.  He can be seen pulling up from distance, penetrating, or even dunking on a fast break.  Right now there really isn't a glaring weakness in his game, I would like to see his court vision improve (i.e. make that pass that no one else can see; that playmaking ability).

It's "Goodbye Deshaun Thomas! Hello James Blackmon!" to fill the scoring void for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers.  As the 6'2" 170 pound shooting guard will join fellow class of 2014 recruit Trey Lyles at Indiana University.  You may recall James Blackmon, Sr. A standout from Marion, Indiana who played college ball at University of Kentucky.

Highlights:

Comparison:  More "scoring minded" Chauncey Billups

Notes:

Coached by his father, James Blackmon, Sr. who played at Kentucky.
